Catellani & Smith reflects the artistic personality of its founder Enzo Catellani, who has been creating in constant evolution between art and craftsmanship for more than 30 years. On the radar? The Ensō lamp, a nod to the period when Catellani lived in Japan. “During that time, I took calligraphy classes and it changed my life. I still practise this art and try to find the essence of those slow, precise movements. Ensō, for example, the circle symbol of enlightenment and wholeness, has always fascinated me. It encompasses everything and nothing. At that time, adding three-dimensionality to that stroke was natural for me.”
