ETC Design Center: an inspiration centre to see in Europe
Since its establishment in 1981, ETC Design Center has been offering a multi-brand showroom in the Netherlands, near Amsterdam. An exclusive design space for everyone in the world: professionals, interior designers and architects, as well as consumers. Covering more than 15,000 square metres and with 120 showrooms, the leading brands in the industry are brought together in this design destination. 500 different brands with a diverse and high quality range of interior products: furniture, fabrics, textiles, wall coverings, bed linens and even lighting systems.
For ETC Design Center, the goal is not simply to reveal the collections, but to create a total and stimulating experience, inspiring and unique. Driven by the desire to innovate, the centre aims to inform visitors as a platform for knowledge transfer. It introduces visitors to the art of design in an elegant and functional environment. Visitors have access to fully equipped spaces with interactive display systems and rotating panels showing all possible combinations of materials and colours. They can observe and test products while meeting exhibitors such as Talenti, La Aurelia Design and Belliny Fabrics. A valuable interaction between interior designers and amateurs or professionals, which has made this showroom a success.
This innovative approach, based on exchange with experts, is also in place at D Studio in Copenhagen, Denmark: a commercial space inaugurated in June 2021 by the international group Design Holding, which brings together the leading design brands, eminently high-end, such as the kitchen designer Arclinea, the furniture publishers B&B Italia, Maxalto, Azucena and the big names in lighting such as Flos and Louis Poulsen.
By comparison, in Antwerp, Belgium, Antwerp Design & Deco Valley offers a multi-brand experience under one roof. This showroom features 15, also high-end, design brands, this time Belgian.
A programme for professionals and enthusiasts of design and decoration
The showroom is open to trade visitors during Trade Days, usually on Mondays. Also, during the ETC Design Experience, architects, interior designers and other interior experts discover the latest collections, trends, colours, inspirations and attend lectures in the ETC Design Café. In 2022, it will be possible to attend on the 19th and 20th of September. The centre is also open to ‘end users’ four times a year for consumer inspiration days. This gives end-users the opportunity to take a look at the professional world of interior design. The full programme of the ETC Design Center is available online.
To make the most of this experience, ETC offers workshops, courses and conferences in a user-friendly space via the ETC Academy. Visitors can immerse themselves in the world of interior design by learning how to draw a floor plan and advanced perspective, how to green an interior and how to use photo editing software.
Visit one of the largest multi-brand showrooms in the Netherlands
In this centre in Culemborg, visitors meet a number of renowned exhibitors. Among them, Talenti, the indoor and interior master and emblematic of this Dutch platform, has opened a permanent stand. This group has a high-end collection of modern outdoor furniture and outdoor kitchens (the Tikal line). A perfect combination of aesthetics and functionality.
In the outdoor area, this gigantic showroom also presents Sunshield, a leading manufacturer of wood and aluminium shutter systems. Sunshields, adapted to window frames and roof mouldings, create a healthy and comfortable environment. To enhance windows, the curtains and blinds company Zonnelux is unveiling its indoor collection. And Interstil is highlighting its track, rod and curtain rail systems. The brand is constantly seeking to meet the requirements of professionals by offering tailor-made solutions for every window.
Arte, a brand founded in Belgium in 1981, unveils its collection of refined wallpapers with a design that combines modern style and accessible avant-garde spirit. Dutch Walltextile Company is also dedicated to the production of high quality wallpaper. Its designers and craftsmen work together to produce unique, made-to-measure designs.
On the textile side, ETC Design Center presents Casamance. This publisher creates timeless designs to enhance interiors by reinventing the classics. For its part, the family business Limited Edition offers rugs with luxurious textures, sometimes made-to-measure, all designed by renowned designers, artists and craftsmen in their historic production site in Mouscron, Belgium. The brand relies on sustainable and quality materials: “Slow, durable and stylish: we believe that a sense of aesthetics can go hand in hand with respect for the environment” [sic]. Global Green also reveals its range of responsible textiles: fabrics and wallcoverings made from innovative materials that have a positive impact on the planet.
