These artisans reinvent natural materials by blending ancestral craftsmanship with modern techniques. Wood, through its finest essences, becomes the central element of custom parquet flooring or subtly integrated carpentry. The art of pouring granito, or terrazzo, enhanced by meticulous craftsmanship, allows for infinite floor customization, combining aesthetics and durability. Paints, combining refinement and material respect, are applied to create texture effects and subtle or sophisticated finishes. These projects often enhance existing structures, following an evolutionary approach that magnifies rather than replaces, while incorporating the ecological requirements of contemporary design. Liège, rich in this alchemy between modernity and heritage, thus becomes a true laboratory of ideas, where each creation embodies enduring beauty. This selection invites you to immerse yourself in the creative universe of the Cité Ardente, where material, craftsmanship, and vision come together to create unique and deeply human spaces.

Preserving the timeless art of terrazzo

Since 1880, Bernardin establishments have been perpetuating an exceptional craft originating from Italy: the art of pouring granito floors, a true symbol of durability and artisanal refinement. In 2023, driven by a shared passion for creation, Antoine and Gilles Dumont took over the business, ensuring continuity in this expertise passed down through four generations.

Today, the company specializes in three areas: the restoration of existing granitos and antique mosaics, polishing of marble, granitos, or mosaics, and the creation of custom-designed floors, conceived as unique pieces. For the Dumont brothers, each new project is a blank canvas where granito is reimagined. Composed of crushed marble and poured on-site, this material lends itself to endless variations in colors and inlays, incorporating mirror shards or seashells to create bespoke floors.

Collaborating with prestigious partners such as Brucity or the Brussels Stock Exchange, Bernardin establishments integrate their craftsmanship into iconic locations, helping to elevate this noble and timeless material, cherished for its beauty and longevity.
